So often, we wait to make changes in our lives until it’s absolutely necessary. We become trapped in soul-sucking jobs, draining relationships, or paralyzing financial situations, and hit that point of something NEEDS to change. Or maybe we face a health crisis, or lose a family member or a loved one, and suddenly have a wake-up call that this life is not forever, and that we better get started living it.

One of the questions that the organizer asked really struck a chord in me. What is the greatest challenge you’ve faced since starting your business, and how have you overcome it?

Since I left the corporate world to pursue the entrepreneur lifestyle full-time, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges with technology, time management, finances, lead generation, and digital marketing. But none of that seems to affect me - at least not in a major way. The biggest challenge that I’ve struggled with so far as an entrepreneur is the management of uncertainty.

Your Life on the Other Side of Fear

We are all so afraid of fear that we push it away. We pretend it’s not there. We make up beliefs and stories to try and protect ourselves from ever getting hurt again, but by doing so, we live in the shadow of fear and let it control our every thought.

 

We become masters at suppressing our feelings. We push away and resist the things that bring up any negative emotions, and we obsess over chasing after external things that we think will bring us happiness instead. We create a larger and larger gap between how things are now, and how they need to be in the future in order for us to feel happy. Which leads to never feeling enough, always needing to do more, and constantly remaining unfulfilled.
